APRIL 30 – MAY 2: THREE DAYS OF POWERFUL ACTION!
800 people from 30 nations attended the International Conference for a Nuclear-free, Peaceful, Just and Sustainable World keynoted by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon at the historic Riverside Church. Videos of plenary sessions available here.
Sunday, May 2, nearly 15,000 people filled Times Square for a rally of speeches and music and international greetings; a march across town to the UN; and a vibrant, informative, fun International Peace & Music Festival. 100 Hibakusha – survivors of the atomic bombings – stalwartly braved the heat joined by residents of the Kittay House Senior Home in Bronx, NY. 2000 Japanese and over a 1000 Europe and from around the globe joined peace trains and buses from Delaware, Michigan, Vermont, Connecticut, Pennsylvania thousands of others from around the US to say all together: No Nukes, No Wars, Fund Human Needs, Protect the Planet!
